Edgware Abbey
The Anglican Benedictine Community of St Mary at the Cross
We are a small community of women living out the Gospel values in the Benedictine tradition and through our dedication to stand at the Cross of Jesus with Mary his Mother, we seek to serve Christ in one another, in the care of the sick and poor, and in ministering to Abbey guests and those who live around us.
The spirit of St. Benedict’s Rule is summed up in the motto of the Benedictine Confederation: pax (“peace”) and the traditional ora et labora (“pray and work”). A balanced life in the modern world.
"I thank you Lord with all my heart,
you have heard the words of my mouth.
In the presence of the angels I will bless you.
I will adore you before your holy temple."
[Psalm 137]
We are still very mindful of Covid-19 when you visit us - we ask you to protect yourselves and us. We are keeping you all in our Prayer.
- Open Day -
